Peter
B. Doyle, Chief Investment
Strategist,
co-founded The Internet Fund (WWWFX) and Kinetics Asset Management, Inc.,
in early 1996, and co-founded Horizon Asset Management in 1994. He is
responsible for overseeing investment decisions for the entire family of
Kinetics Mutual Funds. He also serves as the Co-Portfolio
Manager of The Internet Fund, and is the Portfolio Manager of The
Paradigm Fund.
From 1988 through late 1994, Mr. Doyle
was an Investment Officer in Bankers Trust Company’s Investment Services
Group, where he was responsible for managing approximately $250
million in assets. During his tenure at Bankers Trust, Peter served
on the Finance and Utility research sub-groups and had analytical
responsibility for the REIT sector. In 1994, he co-founded and is
presently Managing Director of Horizon Asset Management, Inc.
Mr.
Doyle received a Masters of Business Administration from Fordham
University and a Bachelors of Science in economics from St. John’s
University.
Bruce Paul
Abel is Co-Portfolio
Manager to The Medical Fund. Prior to joining
Kinetics in 1999, Mr. Abel was with Brookhaven National Laboratory since
1989, where he was involved in researching, developing and implementing
technical and scientific programs and systems in the areas of nuclear
physics, computer programming and industrial design. During that
time, Mr. Abel was also a freelance writer for Academic Science News and
Review, researching, reporting and providing scholarly analysis and
insight on a myriad of issues and developments in the fields of science
and technology. He frequently appears as an industry expert on
National Public Radio and other electronic and print media.
Mr.
Abel received a Masters Degree in Mechanical/Nuclear Engineering from
Manhattan College in 1994 and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physics from
SUNY – Stony Brook in 1987.
Murray
Stahl is Director of
Research and Co-Portfolio Manager of the Small Cap Opportunities Fund and
the Paradigm Fund. Mr. Stahl is Chairman and a co-founder of
Horizon Asset Management. Previously, he was with Bankers Trust
Company for 16 years as a portfolio manager and research analyst, and
managed approximately $600 million of individual, trust and institutional
client assets. As the senior fund manager, he directed the
investments of three of the banks Common Trust Funds, the Special
Opportunity, Utility and Tangible Assets Funds. Mr. Stahl also
served as a member of the Equity Strategy Group as well as the Investment
Strategy Group, which established asset allocation guidelines for the
Private Bank and was deeply involved in new product
development.
Steven Tuen, C.F.A., is Co-Portfolio Manager to The Internet Fund and The
Global Fund. Since 1996, Mr. Tuen has been an
analyst and the Director of Research of IPO Value Monitor, a research
service that focuses on initial public offerings (IPOs). He is also a
portfolio manager with Horizon Asset Management. From 1989 to 1996,
Mr. Tuen was an analyst at Bankers Trust Company. He became Portfolio
Manager of the Private Banking Group during that time.
Mr. Tuen
received his Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from City
University of New York in 1991 and became a Chartered Financial Analyst in
1995.
Paul Mampilly
is a Managing Director, Co-portfolio manager and member of
the portfolio management team at Kinetics Asset Management, Inc. Paul has over 17
years experience as an investment professional working at Bankers Trust,
Deutsche Bank, ING Funds and the Capuchin Group as a research analyst and
portfolio manager. Paul received his MBA from Fordham University, New York
in 1996. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), a member of the New York
Society of Securities Analysts (NYSSA), a member of the American
Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and a member of the
Society for Judgment and Decision Making (SJDM).
